Installation

When you request a trial version, you will receive a time-limited trial licence for COP that you can download immediately. We will also send you an email with the link to download your personal trial version at any later time.
COP test licences are always single-user licences and the software protection is delivered as a licence file. Licence files are bound to the computer hardware. Please note that software-based protection (licence file) cannot be installed on a virtual machine!
After you have downloaded your trial version, proceed as follows:
Install COP
Unpack the downloaded ZIP file in any directory, e.g. C:\Temp. You can start the installation simply by executing the setup file. You need administrator rights on your computer to execute the setup file. You will find more help regarding the installation in the COP Installation Guide.
Activate trial licence
Only after you have installed COP, the trial licence can be installed. To do this, simply double-click on the file 'COP3TrialLicense.WibuCmRaU' contained in the downloaded ZIP archive. COP is now ready to use.
Please note:
The trial version is valid for 14 days. The trial period does not start with the download or with the installation of COP but with the activation of the licence.
Yes. The new version COP 3 is installed in a different directory by default. You can use CoP 2.x and COP 3.x independently of each other. In this respect, please note:
  • You can open any project file with COP 3 that you created with CoP2, but not vice versa.
  • Tip: So if you want to test the new COP 3 version first, create your projects with CoP2 and then open them with COP 3.
  • CoP 2.x and COP 3.x can also be started simultaneously. However, each instance requires its own licence.
Under Support > Documentation, various documents are available for download, including the instructions for installing COP on your computer. Click here to download the instructions directly.
You need administrator rights on your computer to execute the installation routine.
The installation routine creates a log file in the Windows TEMP directory of the logged-in user.
To get the path to the TEMP directory, open the Windows command prompt (MS-DOS box) and type 'echo %TEMP%'.
The log file will be named with a unique file name based on the current date and a sequential number at the end (e.g. Setup Log YYYY-MM-TT #001.txt).
The information in the log file is technical and useful for support requests.
Under Support > Documentation, various documents are available for download, including the instructions to install network licences. Click here to download the instructions directly.
To install COP as a licence server, run the downloaded setup file and select the option “Start as 'Network Server'” on the “Configure Licence Server” page. Finish the installation routine and then start COP. All network licences installed on this machine are now also available on the network.
To update the server search list on your client computer, either restart the CodeMeter licence server on the client computer or add your COP network server to the server search list of your licence server on the client computer. To restart the CodeMeter licence server on the client computer, open the CodeMeter Control Centre by clicking on the icon in the Windows task bar. If the Control Centre has not yet been started, select Start | Programs | CodeMeter | CodeMeter Control Centre. In the Control Centre, select Action | Stop CodeMeter Service. After the CodeMeter service has been stopped, select Action | Start CodeMeter Service. To add your COP network server to the server search list of your licence server on the client computer, open the CodeMeter WebAdmin by either opening the URL http://localhost:22350 or http://127.0.0.1:22350 in your web browser or by clicking the WebAdmin button in the CodeMeter Control Center. In WebAdmin, select the Settings | Network page and click the Add button to add the name or IP address of your COP network server.
To change the network access of the licence server, open the CodeMeter WebAdmin by either opening the URL http://localhost:22350 or http://127.0.0.1:22350 in your web browser or by clicking the WebAdmin button in the CodeMeter Control Centre. In WebAdmin, select the Settings | Network page and select the “Start as network server” checkbox to configure COP as a network server. Deselect the checkbox to configure COP as a network client.
Yes. Here you can download the installation file for the CodeMeter Runtime Kit v7.50 currently delivered with COP. If you, for example, only want to install the network licences on a network server without also installing COP at the same time, please use this CodeMeter Runtime installation file to install the CodeMeter Control Centre and the CodeMeter service for providing the licences. Please note that you must then make all the necessary settings via the CodeMeter Control Centre.
